Celebrate, Motivate, Inspire: Black History 2023

February is recognized is National Black History Month. Many are remembered for their accomplishments; not only nationally but locally. There are many people today who continue to motivate and inspire. In an effort to recognize those individuals, St. James Parish Schools will host a Black History Month contest entitled, “Celebrate, Motivate, Inspire.”

It has an annual operating budget of approximately $56,000,000.

Sixth Ward Elementary Honored Nationally

Congratulations to Sixth Ward Elementary School on receiving a National Distinction Award for their Capturing Kids Hearts program. Capturing Kids Hearts is a program that develops social and emotional learning of a school campus. It is a transformational, intentional, relational, and student-centered program. Sixth Ward Elementary School is 1 of 11 schools in the State of Louisiana with this national distinction. Way to go SWES Tigers!!

FREE Breakfast and Lunch

St. James Parish School Board today announced an amendment to its policy for serving meals to students under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs for the 2022‐2023 school year. All students will be served lunch and breakfast at NO CHARGE at ALL SCHOOL sites.
