LHS Teacher Recieves Presidential Award of Excellence

Mandy Boudwin has been selected by the White House for a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) from the state of Louisiana in the Mathematics award category. She will travel to Washington, DC for a dinner and awards ceremony at the White House scheduled for October 15-18, 2019.

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching is the highest recognition that a science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teacher may receive for outstanding teaching in the United States. 

The awardees receive a certificate signed by the President of the United States; a trip to Washington D.C. to attend a series of recognition events and professional development opportunities; and a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation.
